Beautifully written prompt
The hydrangeas popped with an unreal tint like the glistening wings of a morpho butterfly. It was as if they were reflecting the memory of the flawless summer sky that had been; the one that was quickly fading into muted twilight overhead–itself, now a reflection of the lilac thicket huddled against the creek’s edge.
