What Is World Story Book?

Edge O. Erin, author of multiple upcoming books and passionate world builder, has recently embarked on a journey to unite our world.

This new project–World Story Book–aims to connect people all over the globe by creating a “blended” novel.

Hundreds of authors will work one after another to add their own paragraph to a growing story. With writers–and eventually, artists–chipping in from all over the planet, the goal of this literary take on the game of telephone is to create a story not about any one character, but about all of us.

The #WorldStoryBook is a project designed to create a “blended” novel & will draw upon the writing talents of hundreds of authors from around the world. I will provide the opening paragraph, & one of you will do the next & another one of you will pick up the literary baton. I will accept your submissions, provide oversight & select what piece will be used.

“The Bell 429 touched down at Lavrentiya Airport, the easternmost airstrip in continental Asia,” the story begins. “An old Zil 157 pulled up alongside the helicopter, and the two prisoners were rushed into the back. They joined several convicts and political dissidents bound for a hastily erected – and most unofficial – gulag in Lorino.”

While it begins in Russia, there is no doubt this story will travel. Multiple authors from different countries have already signed on with others joining the queue every day.

The World Story Book has the potential to be a transformative endeavor, bringing writers and cultures together from disparate parts of the globe. Let’s face it; not many writers have their work published, and still fewer individuals make a living from writing. This book will instill confidence, promote cooperation, and – potentially – launch careers. The World Story Book also presents a medium to become part of something collaborative and symbiotic; we are more than the sum of parts.

All profits from the finished book will go to various charities, including the World Wildlife Fund and The Thin Green Line Foundation.

Thank you very much, Sara, for posting this thoughtful and articulate article showcasing the “World Story Book.” This book can go anywhere, literally! It’s exciting that each author plays the part of a demigod but then has to sit back and surrender control to the next person. It is the ultimate collaboration-cooperation thought-experiment.

  2. With havin so much written content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation? My website has a lot of completely unique content I’ve
either authored myself or outsourced but it
appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my permission. Do you
know any techniques to help reduce content from being stolen? I’d certainly appreciate

Plagiarism is a constant problem no matter what kind of web content you are producing. The benefit of a creative site like this is that your readers visit as much for the community and atmosphere as for the articles. That’s something that can’t be stolen!

Some templates are mobile responsive and some aren’t. When choosing your theme make sure it is advertised as being mobile responsive (not just “mobile-friendly”). Hope that helps!
